Day 3: New levels

Day 3

The next day has come and now, I am refreshed. On Day 2, I said I was going to make a platform for the players. But I tried my best and...

This is what I got in mind. It's not that bad, but it's just not appealing. I had to use someone else's asset with a small modification, and so I did. I searched on itch.io and found Ruuskii made an asset called Canyon Rocks Tiles. I downloaded it, imported to my game as a tilemap, and now to modify it. I don't want the tiles to be brown because the game is taking place in a mine and if I learn anything in Minecraft is that mines are mostly black and very little brown. So, I modified the colors and it's time to make the levels. Here's what the tiles look like if you're interested in downloading them:

The game I'm currently making, Gems Finder, has a unique decisions on the player, risk it or play it safe. If the players had taken on of the collectibles, they are safe and able to escape. However, there are other gems players can risk to take. If the player falls from a pit or is outside the layout, they will respawn with the consequences of the gem they had obtained lost and returned to the original position while the time still continues to run out. It was a concept I got from my previous game called Heart Break, where if the player falls it will restart from their initial position with the difference is that any hearts they obtained will not return to original position.

The gameplay might have been done, but I want more levels to make and this is just the start. I haven't started making menus, game over screens, and other screens that might be important, like credits and options. I also haven't made the thumbnail for the game cover. Let's hope I can make at least 25 levels in the game before it runs out.
